Leonard Wilmot born circa 1549, married Katherine Prime. It was reported at the manor court held in 1575/76 that a farmhouse in the parish of Toot Baldon was ruinous and unoccupied through the neglect of the tenant Leonard Willmot, but which of the cottages it was is difficult to say. [History of the County of Oxford, vol 5] The lordship of Chastillons or Chestlion, manor house, and demesne were bought in 1596 by Leonard Wilmot, who acquired a further 63 a. from John Wenman, reportedly held of Bampton Earls Estate for suit of court.
