Research Notes
No source has been discovered so far for the date of birth record outlined in the Notes from original import; there are a number of Ancestry trees that quote 22 May 1800 but I have been unable to discover the origin of that date. Due to this I have marked the date of birth as uncertain.

I also found a Sidebotham Williamson age 75 in the same area [Bredbury].
Close to Hugh's family there was a family of John Collins 55, wife Susan 50 and their children Betty 20, Sidebotham 20?, John 15, Susan 12 and Samuel 10.
Could Susan (age 50) be Hughs sister? William would be about 11 in 1841 and some names seem to recur.
There was also a family for William Williamson nearby with a Betty, Samuel and others and in Hatherlow.
I found a Joseph Williamson and a John Williamson (a hatter) although he was older (68).
There was also a John Sidebotham 25 and family.
It seems probable they are related, but I don't know how. Gives us some names to chase.
I have oredered (27-06-2002) some wills for Thomas Clayton 1885 Greave Fold Romily (martha's Grandfather?), John Clayton 1809 Top o'th Hill, Romily (Thomas father?) and for William Lowe 1883, of Marple once of Hadfield, a hatter.
May be shots in the dark but could get lucky.
On William and Louisa's marriage, William Lowe is listed as a hatter.
Cheers Trish.

In School Road which joines Hatherlow Road is a wheelwright and joiner (William Torr and Jospeh Torr), possibly worked with Hugh Williamson or his son William Williamson.
William is only a few houses along from them in Hatherlow.
No Williamsons living on Barrack Hill Road in 1891.
I think it's probable that Hugh's son Jesse on 1851 census is the same person as son Josiah on the 1861. (Doubtful due to difference in ages.)
