Hazel Odessa Williams was born on September 11, 1939, in Mercedes, Texas, her father, James, was 36, and her mother, Ruby, was 23. She married Robert Dunn Mook and they had four children together, John Patrick Mook, Robert Dunn Mook, Jr, Samuel Leon Mook and Jim Gordon Mook. She then married David Carl East on December 20, 1982, in Chambers, Texas. She died on March 25, 2014, in Wylie, Texas, at the age of 74, and was buried in Winnie, Texas.
