Lucy (Williams) Kemp was born in Middlesex, England.

Lucy Williams was born in 1819. She was the daughter of John Williams and Sarah unknown. Lucy was baptised on 9th March 1819, at Saint Andrew in Holborn, Middlesex. ^[1]

In 1843, Lucy married Josiah Kemp. The marriage was registered at St James, Westminster, Middlesex. ^[2]

In 1851, Lucy and her husband were residing in Halstead, Essex. Lucy was a Power Loom weaver. Her husband was a labourer in a silk factory. They had two sons at this time. Walter, age 7; and Charles, age 3. ^[3]
