Alice Williams was born about 1871 in Vermont. She was the daughter of George T. Williams and Annetta Anthony, [1] and the grandchild of Underground Railroad operatives Eliza and Tony Anthony of Burlington, Vermont.
In 1880, she was going to school and living in Burlington, Vermont with her parents, siblings, widowed grandmother Eliza Anthony, aunt Rachel Freeman, and cousin Gertrude Freeman.
