Biography

At the time of the 1880 US Census, head of household George G. Williams (age 47, born in Ireland) was employed as a Seaman and living in Pacheco, Contra Costa, California with his wife Mary Jane Williams (age 43, born in Ireland), their daughter Evelyn H. Williams (age 12, born in California), son George T. Williams (age 10, born in California), son Robert W. Williams (age 8, born in California), and brother WIlliam Williams (age 54, born in Ireland) who was employed as a Boatman. Both of Georege's parents were born in Ireland; both of Mary Jane's parents were born in Ireland. ^[1]

On 14 Aug 1884, George G. Williams stated he was 51 years old and born in Ireland when he registered to vote in Martinez, Contra Costa County, California. ^[2]

On 28 Sep 1892, George G. Williams stated he was 59 years old and born in Ireland when he registered to vote in Martinez, Contra Costa County, California, USA. ^[3]

On 20 Apr 1899, the San Francisco Call published a news item reporting the death of Mary J. Williams (age 65 years) and Harold J. Williams (8 months and 15 days) :

WILLIAMS— In this city, April 19. 1899, Harold J., beloved son of Charles and Mary A. Williams, and brother of Charley Williams, a ' native of San Francisco, aged- 8 months and 15 days. WILLIAMS— In Crockett, April I8, 1899, Mary J., wife of the late George G. Williams, and mother of Mrs. E. Edwards and George T. and Robert W. Williams, a native of Ireland, aged 65 years. Services at Congregational Church, Martinez, this day (Thursday), on arrival of 11:45 o'clock train from Crockett. Interment Martinez.^[4]
