Adrian Williams is an Anzac who served in World War Two.

Sports car enthusiast in his youth. Won in his Singer 20 Jul 1939 in same event as his brother won the motorcycle section.

[2] AN OVERTURNS THRILLING MISHAP NEAR PORT GERMEIN Four Pirie Youths Have Remarkable Escape FOUR young Pirie men had a remarkable escape from serious injury when a motor van overturned on Port Germein road shortly after 4 o'clock on Saturday afternoon. Mr. Keith Williams, one of the four passengers in the van, was unhurt. The other three, Messrs. John Henry O'Dea, son, of Mr. J. A. O'Dea: of Goode road, Pirie West, Adrian Leonard Williams, of 75 Goode road, and Jack Stewart Miller, of Barrier Hotel, received slight inquiries and were allowed to go to their homes after having he en attended by Dr. L. G. Tassie. The party, it is understood, was on the way to a week-end camp when the accident occurred. Mr. O'Dea was driving the motor van, which is owned by his father. Messrs. A. L. Williams and Miller were seated beside the driver in the front seat when the van swerved in some loose sand and overturned. The mishap occurred about three miles from Port Germein. Messrs. O'Dea, A. L. Williams, and Miller were not seriously injured, and Mr. K. Williams, who was seated inside the van at the rear, did not receive a scratch. The windscreen of the van was broken and the mudguards were bent, but the machine was not otherwise damaged.

Recorder (Port Pirie, SA: 1919 - 1954), Wednesday 11 February 1948. [3] FIRST PRESIDENT FROM WAR II. A. L. Williams To Lead Pirie "Diggers" First World War II serviceman to become president of Pirie sub-branch of Returned Service-men's League is Mr. A. L. Williams, who was declared elected unopposed at the sub-branch annual meeting in Memorial Hall on Monday night. Mr. Williams, who last year held office as vice-president and has rendered valuable service on the building committee, enlisted as a sapper in Royal Australian Engineers in 1940 and went overseas the following year, seeing service in Palestine and Syria. He was commissioned following his return to Australia. Two other members of the sub-branch "younger brigade" were appointed vice-presidents, Mr. A. L. Goode taking the senior position after an active year as secretary. Mr. D. E. Kershaw is junior vice-president. VETERAN SECRETARY Mr. A. Sjostrom, who rarely has been out of office, retired from the presidency to enter his third term as secretary, and another enthusiastic veteran in Mr. J. Brammer was again appointed treasurer. Other officers elected were:- Messrs. C. Brine, W. T. B. Winter, P. E. McMahon, T. Bowden, A. Telford, J. Kerin, management committee; W. Bockelberg, G. Dawson, auditors; F. M. Barkla, magazine circulation manager; J. O. Geddes, Legacy liaison officer; F. S. Dodd, pensions officer; R. G. Gordon, sports secretary. Responding to the retiring president's congratulations on his appointment, Mr. Williams expressed confidence regarding the future of the sub-branch. He forecast that after five or six years, when younger members had "found their feet" in the post-war world, attendances at meetings would be nearer 220 than 20.
