Hysham, Oct. 28--W.A. Williams, 90, father of Ellis Williams, Treasure county assessor for the last 20 years, succumbed at his son's home here Saturday. Death was caused by infirmities due to his advanced age.
Mr. Williams was born at Oakland City, Indiana, Jan. 8, 1849. He was one of 14 children. He was married to Miss Nancy Harper at Oakland City in 1878. In 1890 the couple moved to Colorado and in 1913 they came to Hysham where Mr. Williams took a homestead north of the city.
Mrs. Williams died in 1918 and shortly after her death Mr. Williams went to Fort Morgan, Colo., to make his home with a son, Paul. Following an automobile accident several years ago in which his son was killed, Mr. Williams returned to Hysham, where he has lived since.
He is survived by his son, Ellis; four sisters who reside in Indiana; five grandchildren, Charles Williams of Lewistown, Mrs. Anders Olson of Billings, Mrs. Ray Tenney of Miles City, Richard Williams of Wash.D.C., and Miss Mary Lou Williams now residing in Wisconsin, and seven great grandchildren.
