Mary Loucetta "Kate" Williams Rhea was born on July 31, 1866, in Sparta, Tennessee, to Mary Jane England and Dr. Elkanah David "Cain" Williams. Kate married John Byrd Rhea on March 31, 1887, in White, Tennessee. She was his second wife. They had 12 children, eleven living to adulthood. She died on December 1, 1940, in White County, Tennessee at the age of 74, and was buried in Highland Cemetery in White County, Tennessee.
