Birth & Baptism

Birth

This Martha Williams is the second Martha, the first Martha Williams died before she reached the age of one year old in 1756.

This Martha was born 15 Dec 1762, to Eleazer Williams and Abigail (Prentice) Williams in Stonington.[1][2]

Baptism

Martha was baptized in the First Congregational Church of Stonington on 7 Aug 1763, by Reverend Nathaniel Eells.[3]

Marriage

On 1 Jan, 1786, Martha was joined in marriage to Oliver Denison, in the Firtst Congregational Church of Stonington by Reverend Nathaniel Eells.[1][3][4]

While living at the Old Denison Homestead, they had the following children:

  2. Justin Williams Denison; b. Mar 1789[1][4]
  3. Marcia Prentice (Denison) Palmer; b. 1791[1][4]
  4. Martha (Denison) Chesebrough; b 1793[1][4]
  5. Elam Williams Denison; b. 1794[1][4]
  6. Luke Prentice Denison; b. 1797; d. 03 Jul 1833 by suicide.[1][4]
  7. Grace Billings (Denison) Noyes; b. 24 Aug 1799[1][4]
  8. Eunice W (Denison) Noyes; b. 24 Oct 1801[1][4]
  9. Thomas Jefferson Denison; b. 13 Oct 1823[1][4]

Death

At the age of 93, Martha died 20 Aug 1855, and is buried in Elm Grove Cemetery in Mystic.[4][5][6]
