Note: Wheeler (History of Stonington etc., 1900) states that this William Williams (son of John & Keturah (Randall) Williams, b. Feb. 2, 1772, was married to Lydia Wheeler on 16 Oct 1796, at Stonington; there is no mention of his marriage to anyone else. Also their residence & children (particularly his son John W. Williams b. 26 Aug 1799; d. 19 Aug 1800, both in New London County, CT) are associated with Stonington and New London County, Connecticut, not anywhere in Virginia. These points of information might lead to the question as to whether this particular William Williams should be detached from the listed spouse Sophia Catherine Freshour, and his death actuarials should be deleted until specific primary reference might be found.[JRF]
