Jacob Williams was born around 1781. He was the oldest son of Rufus Williams.[1] His mother (assuming that his father hadn't remarried) was Eunice Williams, who lived next door to him in the 1810 census.[2]
His first wife was Keziah Brewster, who he married on October 23, 1805.[3] She died before 1819.[4] Their children were:
His wife at the time of his death was Martha, who is presumably also the mother of his last three children.
He was recorded in Huntington, Chittenden County, Vermont, in the 1810 and 1820 censuses.[2][5] By 1830, he had moved to Stockholm, St. Lawrence, New York.[6][7]
He died in 1841. His gravestone says that he died on August 4.[8] However, probate records indicate that he must have been dead earlier than that, with one record from May 1841 saying that he died "sometime in the month of January or February last."[9] In his will, he left the majority of his estate to his younger son John Williams.[10]
