Anthony Alfred Williams, son of Richard William and Mary Ann Williams, was baptized 2 Dec 1898 at Holy Trinity, Clapham, Lambeth, England.

Military Service

Anthony enlisted on his 16th birthday, 8 Nov 1914. He was a "milk carrier", described as 5 feet 2 1/2 inches, with a 34 1/2" chest, light brown hair, blue eyes, fresh complexion, and a scar on his right forearm.[1]

Anthony Alfred Williams was a signal boy aboard the Defence during the Battle of Jutland, off the coast of Denmark, when he and all aboard perished.[2]

His mother Mary Ann received his pension of 5 shillings weekly.[3]
