Charles served as Mayor of Rockford Illinois 1859-1864

Charles Williams is buried in Greenwood Cemetery, Rockford, Illinois.

Charles was born in 1788. He was the son of Nehemiah Williams and Percy Keyes. ^{[1][2] [3]}

He married Sarah Skinner in 1819. ^[4]

They lived in Hartford, Connecticut. ^[5][6]

They moved to New York City before 1834. ^[7][8]

In 1850 they lived in Maryland. ^[9]

They moved to Rockford, Illinois in 1855 where he owned a hardware store. ^[10][11]

He was elected mayor in 1859 and served until 1864. ^[12]

He was Vice President of Rockford Savings. ^[13]

Charles passed away in 1876.
