Biography

Lydia was born about 1714. She was the daughter of Nathaniel Williams and Lydia King.

She married Ichabod Keith on 17 October 1734 in Raynham.^[1]

She married her second husband, Dr. Nathaniel White on 1 July 1755 in Weymouth.(Marriage records list her name as Abigail)^[2] She refused the administration of her husband's estate.^[3] She also quitclaimed her dower for consideration.^[4]

She married her third husband, Dr. David Jones on 24 October 1759 in Abington.^[5]

She owned, along with her three husbands, slave Toby Talbot and Dinah Talbot. Lydia and her third husband Dr. David Jones of Abington sold Toby and daughter Dinah Talbot in 1771 to Deacon Elijah Snell and Jesse Howard of West Bridgewater.

Probate

The will of Lydia Jones of Abington was dated, 3 June 1793 and proved on 1 February 1796 in Plymouth. She mentioned her brother Edmund Williams, and her cousin Hannah Alden, wife of Samuel Alden.^[6]

Her inventory was taken on 18 February 1796 in Abington which included real estate in Raynham. An account of her estate by Daniel Alden was recorded which included cash collected, appraisers, gravestones, and administration fees.^[7]
