Prince was born in 1802 in Barbados. He was a convict after the 3rd fleet who was transported to Van Diemen's Land on the Lord Lyndoch Transportation. [1] Prince - listed as William on his convict records - was tried at Barbadoes Session Oyer and Terminer and Gaol Delivery [2] His offence is described as "Stealing a Trunk from a House, prosr. George Mapp, twice taken up & dischd. for attempts at Felonies" [3]
