Biography
Ipe was born in Tjerkwerd about 1736, son of Willem Ypes and Marsen Nannes. He married Jeltje Oepkes in 1775, he is mentioned as living in Parrega then. In 1804, he is godfather of Jelle Gerbens, son of his brother-in-law Gerben Oepkes.[1] In 1811, he registered last name Ypma for himself in Parrega. He dies in Parrega as Ype Willems Jelgersma.[2][3]
