Judy Wilkins was born about 1919 at London, England.
Judy was an accomplished clarinettist with Sadler's Wells Theatre. She married upcoming conductor and composer, Charles Mackerras, in August 1947 at Sadlers' Wells, Gloucestershire, England.[1] They had two daughters, Fiona and Catherine.
When Charles received a knighthood in 1979, Judy became entitled as Lady Mackerras.
