She never recovered from the death of her father a few months before her twelfth birthday. She was unusually short and slender, with straight brown hair, green eyes, and a fair complexion. Her blood type was A negative.
She graduated from Radford College, Virginia, with a two-year degree. She then taught in schools in Virginia and North Carolina, United States. During World War II, she was briefly employed in a defense-related facility in Washington, District of Columbia.
Following her marriage to George Gast Stradtman, Sr., she lived in Bausman, Lancaster, Wyomissing, and Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania, United States, in 1944-1991.
She was completely disabled during her final three years of life due to a series of "mini strokes" with falls which caused several fractures. Her death resulted from advanced heart disease. Her burial was at Elan Memorial Park, Lime Ridge, Columbia County, Pennsylvania, United States.
