Biography

Thanks for visiting my profile! I am Jannie, and I have been an avid genealogist for many years. I live in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia, and am a descendant of colonists that settled this area in the early 1600's. Over the generations, many became successful planters. I am also a direct descendant of three soldiers who honorably fought for southern independence in the War Between the States. I am interested in helping anyone with southern colonial ancestors, and proving descendent from Confederate troops. As a mom, grandma, and great-grandma it is important to me to pass on the values of faith, liberty, and limited government that our ancestors proudly fought for to the next generation. Hi Jannie,

I'm a "Yank" by birth, but have deep roots in the south! Our son & daughter in-law have been metal detecting for years, also involved in pinning down the sight of the battle in southern Ohio involving Morgan's Raiders. They and the group they were in located a burial site for a Confederate soldier, and saw that he was honored with a gravemarker. Enjoyed reading your biography!
