Richard was born on 9 January 1954 in Coldwater, Branch, Michigan, USA. He was the son of Norman James Wibert and Pauline Joyce Russell.[1] He died at the age of 20 in a work-related accident.[1] The accident happened about 1 month shy of his first wedding anniversary. He is buried at Oak Grove Cemetery in Coldwater, Michigan.[2]
Coldwater man killed while unloading truck COLDWATER — Richard D. Wibert, 20, of 288 S. Michigan Ave., was killed Friday when a restraining strap on a flat bed truck broke loose and hit him. He had been unloading the truck at a construction site near Harwood Lake in Cass County.
Wibert was born in Coldwater and had lived here all of his life. He was married in March 1973 to the former Diane Lucas, who survives.
He attended Coldwater High School and was employed by the Hoosier Engineering Co. of Three Rivers. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Union, Local 876, of Grand Rapids.
Also surviving are his parents. Mrs. Milton (Pauline) McNitt of Coldwater and James Wibert of Niles; brothers, Michael Wibert and Kenneth, both of Coldwater; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Russell of Quincy. and paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Norman Wibert of Lyons.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church of Coldwater. Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Baggerly-Dutcher Funeral Home.[3]
