Looking for my paternal great grandfather known to me only by name as: Jack Madden. Birth was approximately 1875-1880. My grandmother (Annie) was born in Shirebrook, England in 1896 to Helen Carroll. Not known to have ever married Jack Madden. She does marry a Bettney and then Arthur Murkin. Annie came to the United States from Liverpool to live with her grandmother (Carroll) in Limerick, Maine at age 12. Trying to learn what happened to Jack Madden. Did he have other children? Do we have more family that we do not know?

Hello, Chris!

I have been working on the Whitten line on Ancestry.com for 12 years or so. I just discovered wikitree this weekend. Imagine my surprise when the creator of the site—is you! A possible relative! I certainly wish I had found it sooner.

I have DNA tests for myself, brother and uncle (Edward Whitten) from AncestryDNA and 23andMe. I am going to see how to compare yours and ours. It turns out my sister-in-law has been using the site, so my brother, David F. Whitten (dob: 17 July 1967) is here already. Look forward to learning how to navigate!
