Laura, Thanks for catching the duplication. I got ahead of myself on the profile for John H. Olsen and lost the original. Extra eyeballs are a good thing. If you want to the SS James Sprunt Disaster page Space: SS_James_Sprunt_Disaster has links to all of the existing profiles. There are only a few men left to make profiles for.

One of the interesting things that I've found/learned on this journey is just how close some of these men come to being known only to God. Several of the men were 2nd generation Americans whose fathers had fought in either the Spanish American or 1st World Wars. One mother who had lost her only son when the Sprunt was sunk volunteered for the Women's Army Corps and earned her own Veteran Status. Tigger

Thank you for enhancing the bio of Walker-69549 and correcting my keyboard dribble on Manny's name, never got to meet my great grandfather.

Hi, Dale and you're welcome! I like to enhance the profiles of folks from Wisconsin (go, Badgers!). I use Auto Bio a lot and truly love it. As for dribbling, my first profiles are probably in need of some spiffing up. One of these days I should really take a break from doctoring and tend to them.

I never got to meet any of my great-grandfathers, they all died before I was born.

Take care, Laura

Hi, Val!

Thanks for your kind offer, which I’m going to decline. I’m not related to Edla in any way or doing research on the family. I was just on his profile in my role as a Data Doctor. Regards, Laura

I’m now working on Suggestion 723 - Prefix in First Name, and what I wrote in a Comment for Suggestion 743 applies to 723 as well.

To sum up - if I mark a Suggestion as False this means that I didn’t change anything, I just confirmed that the first name was indeed a name and not a title or military rank.

Hello, all

Please read before leaving a comment about Suggestion 743 - Prefix in Middle Name = False

When this Suggestion status is marked ‘False’, it means 3 things:

1) I didn’t change the middle name.

2) The middle name was entered correctly and in the right place - everything is ok, no worries, etc.

3) This profile won’t show up on the weekly Suggestions report for 743 ever again.

Please email me if you have any questions, I’m here to help.

Regards, Laura

Hello, Laura!

Congratulations on certifying to work on pre-1700 profiles! It’s very important to read and understand the Help:Pre-1700 Profiles page. These profiles for deep ancestors are shared by many, and collaborating on them works best if we all follow the guidelines in the certification quiz.

Primary sources should always be added to pre-1700 profiles at the time they are created. If you don't have a source for a pre-1700 profile, it would be best to ask for help in the G2G forum before creating the profile.
