Biography

This profile is part of the Wheeler Name Study.

Kellie (Wheeler) Rhodes is a member of the Cotner Name Study Project.

I am an archaeologist by degree with a minor in history. I've long been interested in genealogy, and am trying to find out more information on my family. I am particularly interested in the Wheeler side as I've run into a few roadblocks. I am also helping my husband go through the massive archive left to him by his grandmother. She had over 70 years worth of documents, notes and pictures for several branches of his family.

I am also on Find A Grave as K.L. Rhodes.

My main areas of focus currently are: Harrison County, Indiana and Meade County, Kentucky (my husband's family area). Perry, Leslie and Breathitt Counties, Kentucky (my mother's side). Monongalia, Tucker, and Preston Counties, West Virginia (my father's side).

My husband and I are in the middle of renovating our house. If I am slow to respond, please forgive me, I'm probably either sanding, painting, cutting or installing something.

Registration begins soon for the January thon. I will be reminding you when it is time to register, but I have some news that will be helpful when that time comes. I have been told that we will be trying a new registration system. When you go in to register, it will not be just making a comment as in the past. The new system will have sections for each team. You will just find the Legacy Heirs one and post to that one.

Here is a list of all 4 thons next year:

Connect-a-Thon Jan 19-22

Connect-a Thon Apr 12-15

Connect-a Thon Jul 19-22

Source-a-Thon Oct 4-7

That means the first Thon of the year will be a Connect-a-Thon on the weekend of the 19 - 22 Jan 2024. I would love to have you with your fellow Legacy Heirs at that time, if it works out for you. I will remind you about registration when that time comes.

After mine are as done as I can, on the top of the page, there is the data doctors logo. Clicking on that will take you to a page to search for the ones you want to work on. Make your choices and search. It will give you a list of profiles across the tree that need help.
