TWO LICENSES ISSUED

Two marriage licenses were issued in Probate Judge Will H. Accord’s office Friday as follows:

Frank Shonkweiler[sic], 23, laborer, Beaver, and Mabel Whaley, 21, housekeeper, Beaver. Rev. James Shonkweiler[sic] officiating.

Mabel Whaley Majors

CIRCLEVILLE - Mabel Erma Whaley Majors, 92, of Circleville, died Jan. 31, 2011 at Brown Memorial home.

She was born Nov. 6 1918 in Pickaway Township, Pickaway County, the daughter of the late James Edward and Anna Elizabeth (Reisinger) Whaley.

She cooked for and managed the Knotty Pine Restaurant on N. Court St. before her marriage to Gerald W. Majors in 1953.

Mable is survived by her niece, Diana Wise (Brian) Bell of Montclair, Va,. and several other nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 32 years, Gerald Majors; seven brothers, Willard, James, David, Clarence, Everett, Raymond, and Carl Whaley; four sisters, Iva Smith, Mae Large, Lottie Reed, and Ruby Wise. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 5, at the Wellman Funeral Home, Circleville, with Chaplain Jim Ferrell officiating. Burial will be in Forest Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice Care or Brown Memorial Home.
