Also living with them was another like-named William Welch (19, born in Tennessee) and a Lucindia Welch (17, born in Louisiana) (born in Louisiana), whose relationships are not yet known[3].
In 1860, W H (41) and Mary (32) and their 6 children - William (12), Emma (10), Dora (8), Susan (6), Lula (2), and Thomas (1 month) were still in Burleson, Texas, where W H continued to work as a carriage maker[4]
In 1870, Emma (20) was living in Precinct 1, Robertson, Texas with her parents, 1 brother, William (22), and 2 sisters - Sarah Welch (18), Susan Alice Welch(16), . Her father and brother, William, were working as blacksmiths.[5].
On 8 Oct 1873, Emma Virginia Welch married George S Tait, (shown as b abt. 1839 in Thurso, Highland, Scotland)[1]) in Robertson County, Texas.[6]
In 1880, Emma V Tait (30) and her husband, G. S. Tait (41) were living in Robertson County, Texas with their daughter Dora Tait Wheelis (3). G.S. was working as a jeweler.[1]
Mrs. Emma V Tait of Calvert, Texas died on 27 Nov 1887.[7]
