Joe Weddington is a part of US Black heritage.

Joe was born about 1854 in North Carolina. He was the son of Robert Weddington and Ann.

In the 1870 census Joseph (age 18), Farm Laborer, was in Sandy Ridge, Union, North Carolina.[1]

In the 1880 census Joseph (age 28), Works On Farm, was the single son of Robt. Weddington in Providence, Mecklenburg, North Carolina, United States.[2]

Joe (age 26), son of Robert Weddington & Ann Weddington, married Trallus (Unknown) Weddington (abt.1867-abt.1933) on 11 October 1880 in Union, North Carolina, United States.[3] Joe and Fraitous had six children. They lived in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina.

In 1900, Joseph was approximately age 53, lived in Providence township, Mecklenburg County, North Carolina, worked as a farmer, and was the married head of household, living with his wife and children.[4]

In 1910, Joseph was approximately age 56, lived in Sharon, Mecklenburg County, North Carolina, worked as a farmer, and was the married head of household living with his wife and children.[5]

Joe died before 1920.[6]

Research Notes

Joe's son Stitt Weddington Sr (1905-) was married in 1927.[7]
