Biography

Nancy was perhaps the 36-45 year old female in her brother Sam's household in Captain Watters' District in the 1800 US Census in Oglethorpe County, Georgia (which was next door to Lewis Patrick).[1]

In November 1800, Nancy and some of her siblings sold (for $100) their interest in their father’s 67 acres on Big Creek to their brothers Sam and John; All agreed their mother could remain until death.[2] Her mother left for Alabama after 6 Oct 1817 with Nancy's brother Samuel after the deed was recorded.

Her marriage on 26 April 1802 to Lewis Patrick was recorded in Oglethorpe County, Georgia.[3]

As a widow with a child, she was entitled to draw twice in the 1805 Georgia Land Lottery (for which she would have registered earlier).[4]

No record of her marriage to John King has been located.

The 1810 Georgia US Census did not survive the War of 1812.

Her death was reported in the local newspaper:[5]

Death of Nancy Watters Patrick King (1814)

Her son William (orphan of Lewis Patrick) was bound to her widower John King in Sep 1817[6]
