US Black Heritage Project
Jordan Watson is a part of US Black heritage.

Jordan was born about 1835-1840, based on census records. He is presumed to be the son of Tom Watson, but may be a younger brother or other relative.

He and Tom and Tom's wife, were slaves of Noah L Thompson (abt.1811-abt.1854) in Leon County, Florida. They were listed on his probate inventory on 3 Feb 1855 as being valued at $2700.[1]

When William Davis died, his probated inventory included the slaves who previously belonged to Noah Thompson. They were listed on April 6, 1855 in Davis' probate record..[2]

Jordan was in a Voter Registration record in Leon, Florida, United States. He was listed as being in J. J. Williams electoral district on 1 Aug 1867.[3]

In the 1870 census Jordan (age 30), Farm Laborer, was in Subdivision 22, Leon, Florida, living with Tom and Mary, a woman named Lizzie who may be his wife, and a laborer named Edward Smith.[4]

In the 1880 census Jordan (age 45), Farmer, was recorded as married in Election Precinct 6, Leon, Florida, United States. He was still living with Tom and Mary Watson, but their relationship was listed as "other." His wife was not in the home.[5]
