He married Matilda Marion Neumann on 26 May 1934 in Perrybridge, Victoria.^[2] Their son was:

• Geoffrey Leigh Warriner (1937–1966)^[3]

8 August 1942, Roy enlisted in the Australian Army, Service Number: V361514. He attained the rank of Corporal and was discharged on 1 Oct 1945.^{[4][5] [6]}

He passed away on 31 Jan 2004 in Heathmont, Victoria.^[7]
