John Bailey's Bailey-371 Regt.; Continental Army pay accounts for service from June 1, 1777, to Dec. 31, 1779; also, Capt. Hugh Maxwell's (1st) Co., Col. Bailey's Regt.; company return dated Camp near Valley Forge, Jan. 24, 1778; residence, Townsend; also, same Co. and Regt.; muster roll for July, 1779, dated West Point; enlisted Jan. 1, 1777; reported on command at Philadelphia; also, Lieut. Colonel's Co., Col. Bailey's Regt.; Continental Army pay accounts for service from Jan. 1, 1780, to June 1, 1780."[3]
