Biography

From Marion Purnell - Australian Royalty John Warne, was one of 160 convicts transported on the ship Surrey, 02 October 1822, arriving in NSW 4 Mar 1823. He had been convicted at Suffolk Quarter Sessions for a term of 7 years on 17 October 1821. Source: Bateson, Charles. The convict ships 1787-1868. 2nd ed. The Sydney Morning Herald (NSW : 1842 - 1954), Friday 24 September 1909. ^[2] IN THE SUPREME COURT OF NEW SOUTH WALES. - Probate Jurisdiction. - In the Will of JOHN WARN, late Crookwell, in the State of New South Wales, Grazier, deceased. Notice is hereby given that the first accounts in the above Estate have this day been filed in my office, Queen's-square, King street, Sydney, and all persons having any claims on the said Estate, or being otherwise interested therein are hereby required to come in before me at my said office on or before the twelfth day of November at eleven o'clock in the forenoon, and inspect the same, and if they shall think fit object thereto, otherwise if the said accounts be not objected to the and will be examined by me and passed according to law. And Notice is also hereby given that on the allowance of the said accounts by the Court commission will be applied for on behalf of GEORGE WARN, the surviving Executor of the Will of the abovenamed deceased.
