Hello Lucas, Are all of your Sieben, Knussmann and Darmstadt families from Zornheim, or do you have some which connect over into Ebersheim, a few miles away. That is where all of mine come from.
Pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants, thus coordinating with others is essential. Review this: How To #3 and Project FAQ.
Based on your contributions with locations, I suggest Pennsylvania ProjectOhio (led by Ellen Smith, Sarah Heiney, or German Roots, led by Jacqueline Clark.

Hi Lucas, I am with the Walter Name Study and review old unmerged matches. This profile has an unmerged match with Lucas Joseph Walter. Please could you have a look at it, and either reject the match or propose a merge. If you aren't sure, you could try sending a private message to the person. Thanks so much. Gillian
Michael Carman's last name was (1) Kirman, (2) Kermann, before the family name changed in the 1780's. His daughter was married to Martin Walter, born about 1725. The marriage was, about 1750 in New York State. I will check further, and keep you informed.
I have removed the information from the Michael Carman Profile, because one of the trusted people had changed my information to the one that you noted.
To find the parents you will need the correct German spelling of the last name, as most of the settlers changed the spelling of their last names, to appear more North American. I will let you know more about the profile after I sort it out.
I have re-checked my information, and found that these two profiles are not the same person. Ref: birth dates, and places of birth are not the same, both names are very common in Germany.
Ref: Wife of Michael Carman Sr. (Kermann was the original spelling), he emigrated to the colonies in 1750 with his wife, his son Michael Jr., and daughter Mary. By 1756 they were settled in the Mohawk Vally, near Johnstown, New York, USA as a tenent of Sir William Johnson's. Later, they had sided with the British during the 1870's war, and so, after the war they came to Canada as U.E.Loyalist and settled at Matilda.
The above information can be found in the book, A goodly Heritage: The Carmans of Iroquois by William B. Carman, 1971.
