Hannah Maria Walls was born on 12th January 1886 in North Bundaberg, Queensland (Australia). She was the third child and daughter of John Walls and Hannah Waterhouse. [1] Soon afterward, the family settled in the Dugandan-Boonah district, fifty kilometres south of Ipswich in the fertile Fassifern Valley.
Hannah married Hans Nielsen on 7th December 1904 in Boonah. [2] Hannah and Hans made their home in Boonah. They had two daughters, only one of whom lived beyond infancy.
Aged 74 years, Hannah passed away on 12th April 1960 in Boonah and is buried in Boonah General Cemetery. [3]
