He was probably a son of Daniel Walling who appears in Canisteo, Steuben County, New York (age 45 or older) with one son age 10-15 (perhaps Elias?) and another son age 16-25: https://www.ancestry.com/discoveryui-content/view/330802:7613?_phsrc=rSq260&_phstart=successSource&gsln=Walling&ml_rpos=15&queryId=4a377d01e867e1ad632df4136098cc25 IMPORTANT NOTES: This would place Elias in Steuben County where his future bride Anna Martin lived. And also note that they named a son Daniel.
Veteran of the War of 1812.
Probably the Elias Wallen in the 1820 Census of Brown County, Ohio: https://www.ancestry.com/search/collections/7734/?name=elias_wallen&count=50&name_x=1_x&residence=_new+york-usa_35
Apparently in Putnam County by 1824 (when son Isaac was born).
Elias was born about 1789, not Nov 30, 1795. He made a payment on homestead land (Piqua land office) in 1827 (under the Land Act of 1820).
He passed away in 1828, Putnam County, Ohio (and his mother-in-law died in Putnam County in 1829).
