Biography

George Washington Wallen was born on January 29, 1811, in Tennessee to Evan Wallen and Nancy Jane Collins. He married Mary Bowman in 1833 in Campbell, Tennessee. They had 13 children in 29 years. He died on August 11, 1888, in Pineywoods, Kentucky, having lived a long life of 77 years, and was buried in Pine Grove Cemetery in Clinton, Kentucky.

George Washington Wallen served the Union during the Civil War. He enlisted on 11 May 1861 in Co C, 1st Kentucky Cavalry and was discharged on 31 December 1864.[1][2][3][4]
