Zita was born in 1927 In Saskatchewan and came to Winnipeg when she was about eight-years-old.
In the 1931 census Zeta (age 3) was the daughter of Carl Waldman in Saskatchewan, Canada.[1]
She became a musician – in particular, a very good pianist. Her passion became German Lieder music, and the family established an annual competition for the singing of German Lieder Music hosted by the University of Manitoba.[2]
Zita worked as a librarian and ultimately took on the role of librarian assistant to the head librarian at the U of M until she retired.
She passed away in 2010.
