I sent you a check-in message several days ago about the 1776 Project to ask you about your past and continued involvement but have not yet heard back from you. Do you still want to be in the project?
If I don’t hear from you in a week or so, I’ll assume that you’ve moved on to other things, but you’re most welcome to re-join the project at any time.
Looking forward to hearing from you,
Best wishes,
Betty -- 1776 Project Leader
We're doing our semi-annual check-in to ask whether you have made contributions to the project in the last six months?
Please note that it is a requirement for membership in the 1776 Project that you respond to this check-in. Please post your response as a reply to this message on your page, for convenience of record keeping.
We look forward to hearing from you.
Betty -- 1776 Project Leader
I am checking in on behalf of the 1776 Project to announce the new project membership requirements and to verify that you are still interested in being a member of the project. All project members are being asked to join one of the project teams and also to make at least one project contribution every 6 months. We are also asking all project members to join the project's Google Group for project communications.
If you are interested in remaining with the Project, please reply to this comment or send me a message, request to join the Google Group, and let us know what team you would like to participate on.
We really appreciate your contributions on WikiTree, and thank you for all your hard work. If you have any questions, please ask. We would also love to hear any feedback you may have for the project.
If we don't hear back from you we will assume that you no longer wish to participate in the project and if so, you could rejoin at any time as is convenient for you.
We look forward to hearing from you soon!
SJ - 1776 Project Leader

Kind regards,

It appears that her father, John Hill (Hill-720), needs more work done since he has no ancestors or siblings. Based on my research (mainly ancestry.com but also myheritage, genie and others), I knew there could be a problem with that section of my Hill tree, but I did not expect wikitree to connect my gg grandmother to a dead end rather than my g grandfather. The way I see the Hill ancestor problem, everything is OK after William T Hill b1737 (Hill-1449), but the one or two generations between Malvina Ward (Hill) and Hill-1449 have issues. I proposed a placeholder pending match (not a merge) between John Hill (Hill-720) and Hill-1449's son John Hill b1767 (Hill-80338). However, they should not be just merged for several reasons. My research show John has a father John with Hill-1449 being the grandfather, but wiki tree shows 1 less generation. This may be why wives are different. Also, John Hill Hill-80338 has no sons and adding your John Hill as a son (if documentation exists) would need to be careful about parents ages if there is any slack in ages.
The problem I saw in my ancestry research does not appear on wiki, in that the majority of ancestry trees (not mine) showed William's son John living his whole life in Massachusetts but his son John and William lived there lives close to North Carolina. I plan on getting pre-1700 certified tomorrow (the 19th), as I have been adding my tree members up close to 1700, but I am stopped when a parent that wiki wants to connect instead of a child I wanted to connect to is pre-1700.
I looked at your tree and your alpha list (including spouses), but I can't find how you are related to john Hill, but that is likely brecuse I am so new to wikitree. I see no problem with the Catherine (Means) Hill branch. I just realized that if she has a duplicate, that could show clues so i'll check.

I found no wiki duplicate for Catherine (Means) Hill.
I looked at other possible spouses for William Hill, but that info seems suspect with wrong dates. I looked at his son Big John Hill Hill-80338 on Wiki, but see no sons. I will look on other sites. I am now looking if William had a son named John William and also a son Big John with the same spouse, but the evidence so far is suspect. If that were true, then adding him and connecting to John Hill Hill-720 woul be gret, and also agree with my tree. However, that is likely wishful thinking for the easiest solution.
On behalf of the Connectors Project Leaders, we are doing a six-month check-in with members. Please let us know if you are still active. If you are active, please let us know in which ways you are currently contributing to the project.
All of us at WikiTree would like to thank you for your contributions and hope that you are enjoying exploring your roots.
I look forward to hearing from you soon.

I received your pre-1700 request for Samuel Means and wrote you back Sunday. Just checking in to see if you'd received it. I located a reputable secondary source for the family today and there are some changes to discuss. Hope to hear from you soon.
