Biography

The daughter of Erwin Waelde and Frances (Greenleaf) Waelde, Leana Waelde was born in Oneonta, New York^{[citation needed]} in 1875, residing there with her family.^[1] In 1880, Leana and her family lived in Maryland Township, New York.^[2]

Leana married Frank Mason MacMullen (1873-1945), the son of Moses MacMullen and Mary Ann Barton, marrying in 1894^{[citation needed]} and having four known children together:

1. Alice MacMullen (1897-)
2. Frances A. MacMullen (1899-1975)
3. Almina MacMullen
4. Laura MacMullen

Leana and her family made their home in 1900 in Malborough Township, New York, residing with her parents and siblings^[3] and establishing their own household in Malborough Township by 1905.^[4] By 1910, they again lived with Leana's parents, residing in Kingston, New York.^[5]

Leana and Frank divorced and Leana remarried, marrying Hollocher," having one son together, Harold Hollocher (1913-). In 1920, Leana, her daughter, Almina, and her son, Harold, lived with Leana's parents and siblings in Saugerties, New York.^[6] Leana and Frank MacMullen later reconciled, residing in 1930 with Leana's parents, who by then had retired to Poughkeepsie, New York.^[7] The household in Poughkeepsie, in 1930, included Leana's parents, her husband, Frank, who owned and operated a swimming pool, Leana's daughter, Almena, and her husband, Kenneth Robinson, who worked as a tool maker at a steel factory; Leana's son, Harold, then under the last name of MacMullen, worked worked as a store clerk; and a lodger. By 1940, Leana and Frank lived alone together in Poughkeepsie.^[8]

Leana MacMullen passed away in Poughkeepsie, New York^[9] at the age of 84 and is buried at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery.^[10]
