Biography

Giuseppe Vutera (this surname also appears as "Butera" and "Gutera") is a Corleone native resident, the son of Matteo Butera and Maria Cuttone.

Giuseppe marries at least twice, first to Caterina Favlisi (or "Furisi" or "Faulisi"), widow of Michaele Rigugliuso (Rigoglioso), and daughter of Tommaso Furisi and the late Maria, on 3 November 1749. His father has died by this time.[1]

Giuseppe and Caterina have at least two children, Matteo (c. 1751) and Leoluca (c. 1752).

Giuseppe remarries to Anna Maria Fruja (“Fruija”), daughter of the late Bartolomeo Fruja and the living Francesca Marsalisi, on 2 June 1771. His parents have died by this time.[2]

Giuseppe and Anna Maria have at least one child, Andrea (c. 1778).

Matteo marries Anna Streva on 8 September 1771.[3]

Leoluca marries Gaetana Milazzo on 15 August 1772.[4]

Andrea Butera marries Maria Russo on 20 October 1799. Giuseppe has died by this time.[5]
