Giuseppe Gutera (also rendered as "Butera" and "Vutera") is a Corleone native resident, the son of Ignacio Gutera and Vita Mangiameli, who married in 1777. According to his reported age in 1834, Giuseppe is born the following year.
Note: There is another man by the same name and born around the same time, who is of unknown relation.
Giuseppe marries Anna Piranio, daughter of the late Giuseppe Piranio and Leonarda Provenzano, on 6 April 1807.[1]
Giuseppe and Anna have seven known children: Giovanna (c. 1808), Vincenzo (c. 1810), Biagia (c. 1815), Ignazio (c. 1816), Leonarda (c. 1819), Leoluca (c. 1824), and Vita (c. 1826).
Giovanna marries at least twice, first to Giuseppe Palazzo on 3 June 1827 in Corleone.[2]
In the 1834 stato delle anime, Giuseppe Gutera, 55 (b. 1778), heads a household in the vanella di Santa Caterina with his wife, Anna, 47 (b. 1786), and children Vincenzo, 23 (b. 1810), Biagia, 18 (b. 1815), Ignazio, 17 (b. 1816), Leonarda, 14 (b. 1819), Leoluca, 9 (b. 1824), and Vita, 7 (b. 1826).[3]
Giovanna remarries to Giuseppe Baglio on 28 November 1835 in Corleone.[4]
Vincenzo marries Maria di Miceli on 7 February 1836.[5]
Ignacio marries Francesca Governali on 10 June 1849. His father has died by this time.[6]
