Joe B. Voeller, 79, of 2323 Bellwood Drive died early Friday at a local hospital. Services will be Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Cathedral. The Rev. Robert Foster will officiate. Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 4-8 p.m. at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home with a rosary at 7.
Mr. Voeller was born May 22, 1902, at Roscoe, S.D., the son of John and Elizabeth Minzer Voeller. He grew up and received his education in the Roscoe area. He married Barbara Heinrich on Dec. 29, 1929, at Roscoe. They farmed in that area and in the Aberdeen, S.D., area until 1950 when he became a self-employed painter. He retired four years ago. Lately he had been a resident of Grand Island. He was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral parish.
Survivors include his widow; a daughter, Mrs. Roy (Genevieve) Fredrickson of Grand Island; four grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Joe (Eva) McManus and Mrs. Rose Lingor, both of Grandview, Wash.; two half-brothers, Tony of Aberdeen, S.D., and Connie of Grandview, Wash., and two half-sisters, Josephine of Nebraska and Elizabeth of Grandview, Wash. He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
