Abijah served in the Revolutionary War, as stated in his pension papers.[1]
He married Zipporah [ ] in 1783 at Nobletown, Columbia, New York. Her maiden name has been said to be Morgan, but there is currently no source for that. They went on to have 9 children.

Abijah VIRGIL died Nov. 22, 1837 in the 81st year of his life. Typically this meant he was 80 years old at death.[3][4]

The above noted is the only soldier named Abijah Virgil found on the Revolutionary War records of this Bureau. Respectfully, Winfield Scott
Commissioner.
Soldier married October 27, 1783 in Nobletown, Columbia County, New York, Zipporah. They were married at the home of her father. Her maiden name and the names of her parents not stated. She was allowed a pension on her application executed August 23, 1838 while living in Groton, New York, aged about seventy years. She died March 12, 1845.

Betsey who married ____ Clark and living in Tompkins County, New York.
Emelia who married ____ Dolph and living in Holland, Erie County, New York
Clarissa who married ____ Curtis and living in Green County, New York.
Philip Luther born about 1784, a son in law of soldier, was living in Groton, New York in 1846. He married about 1808 but the name of his wife is not given.
