Biography

William Washington Vickery was born in Walker, Georgia on 19 Mar 1852. His father was Marmaduke Vickery and his mother was Nancy Morgan. His father died in 1858 and in the 1860 census William appeared with his widowed mother in Walker, Georgia. ^[1] His mother died in 1864, so he was an orphan at age 12.

After his mother's death, William and his brother, Albert, were raised by their sister, Elizabeth Vickery Allen and a devoted negro maid. (This information is from the book about John Morgan and his family written by Eudine Morgan Britton.)

He passed away in 1936 and is buried in Lanes Chapel Memorial Cemetery, Valley Mills, Bosque County, Texas.
