Cassius Edgar Varney was born circa May 22, 1870, in Saratoga County, New York, to Mary Amelia Tiffany and Edgar C. Varney. ^{[1] [2]}

Circa September 3, 1890, in Ansley, Custer County, Nebraska, Cassius married Marie Christina Gebhart. ^[2]

Cassius died at age 89, on March 24, 1960, in Thermopolis, Hot Springs County, Wyoming. He was buried in Ansley Cemetery, in Ansley. ^{[1] [2]}
