Variety of ancestors

I've got quite the variety of ancestors. They can roughly be seperated in groups from six areas.

On my father's side both my grandparents' families came to the city of Den Helder in search of new opportunities. That's where my grandparents met.

Father's side

• West-Friesland (Noord-Holland), my grandfather's side
• Drenthe, my grandmother's side

My mother's grandparents on her father's side were both born in the city of Arnhem from different backgrounds. My mother's grandparents on her mother's side came form the cities of Leeuwarden (in Fryslân) and Groningen and also started a family quite a way from home in Arnhem and that's where my grandparents met. The family of my grandfather then moved to Den Helder for his job at the navy and that's how my father's side and my mother's side came together.

• Fryslân, her grandfather on mother's side
• Groningen, her grandmother on mother's side

Foreign Ancestors

Below will be a list of my foreign ancestors from outside of what is now The Netherlands who migrated to The Netherlands. This excludes my grandfather G.I. Gordinou de Gouberville (1934-2005) who was born in the Dutch East Indies but from Dutch parents. It will also exclude people from nobility from let's say before about 1500 (the Charlemagne line). The names of what the countries are called nowadays, if different from back in the day, will be in brackets.

Father's side

• Johannes Douber (abt.1750-bef.1808), Switzerland, unknown location.
• Engel Coerts (abt.1605-), [Germany], Stift Minden.
• Adriaen van Dapel (abt.1610-bef.1642), [Belgium], Broechem.

Uncertain

• Robbert Michielsz (-bef.1705), possibly from Poland as his children are named Pool. He also traveled to, lived and worked in the Dutch East Indies for a couple of years.
• Gerrit Cornelisz Rowaen (abt.1670-), likely from Rouen, France, based on his surname.
• Sabina Margriete Silvernagel (abt.1640-), [Germany], Braunschweig.
• Johan Wilhelm Schröder (abt.1700-), most likely from Germany

Mother's side

• Isaac Gourdineau (abt.1640-bef.1673), France, Châtellerault. Possible ancestors in France have been located.
• Joannes Baptista der Kinderen (bef.1711-bef.1772), [Belgium], Kasterlee. Baptism and parents were found in records of Kasterlee.
• François Carpenter (abt.1560-), England, unknown location.
• Anna de Glarges (abt.1561-), [Belgium], Hainaut.
• Derk Arnold Benckendorff (-bef.1786), [Germany], Herford.
• Berend Snieders (1784-1862) [Germany], Groß Ringe.

Uncertain

• Wolf Gerritsen (-aft.1814) & Alida Jacobs (-aft.1814) were a jewish (Ashkenazi) couple that probably came to the Netherlands in the late 18th century.
• Arend Wolters (-1779), his descendants are named 'van Munster' so he probably came from Münster in what is now Germany.
• Marija Leper (-bef.1649), possibly from France if we go by the name.

Not all of my living relatives have a profile on WikiTree but I calculated the number of potential people per degree as shown in the "My Connections" page. I only did the first four degrees and for partners only those through marriage are included. As I don't have sibblings, a partner or children my 'degree 1' only consists of my parents.
