Francis,

I noticed that you recently created Pharo-279.

Just a reminder that all Pre-1700 profiles require Reliable Sources. Projects can provide more details for sources that are reliable for the location/timeframe.

Hi Francis

Coordinator for the Netherlands project here.

You still have a number of unsourced pre-1700 profiles and are still creating new ones without sources. I've labelled some of them with the unsourced sticker.

As part of the Honour code you agreed to it has VIII. We cite sources. Without sources we can't objectively resolve conflicting information. Reliable sources are particularly required for pre-1700 profiles, see Why are unreliable sources]allowed for post-1700 profiles?

Hello,

I see you are still creating pre-1700 profiles with no sources. Are you planning to source all these profiles soon? See Debi's comment below for the current requirements for pre-1700 profiles.

Thanks, Teresa

Hello Teresa,

I indeed upload a lot of profiles, of which many are pre-1700, through the import of my GEDCOM file containing more than 2500 profiles. The majority of these were originating from selected geneanet/myheritage/etc. people with whom I had the opportunity to talk to, and I spent a lot of time verifying each and every one against the official Belgian state archives (for Belgium events), and wiewaswie.nl, the national archives of the Netherlands when applicable. Once I'll have finished uploading them, I'll filter the profiles missing a verified source, and update these as needed. Unfortunately, I'm doing this during my free time (mainly when there's nothing on TV in the evening...), and this review will take some time. But be certain that I don't want to simply upload and quit. I'm eager to receive comments with improvement or better sources whenever they exist. Kind regards, Francis

Hi Francis,

I see your interests are also in The Netherlands. Please join us at the Dutch Roots Project. Our goal is to source unsourced profiles at WikiTree and always can use some help, but also like to give some help if needed.

At this moment the Belgium Project is part of the Dutch Roots but soon will be an active Project on itself again I hope.

Please join us!

Kind regards from The Netherlands,

Astrid ~ WikiGreeter

Hi Francis,

Thanks for all your work on WikiTree. I noticed that you recently created a profile for a pre-1700 ancestor using a Geneanet.org profile as the source.

There have been some updates to the Pre-1700 Profile help page and the Pre-1700 Quiz since you took it in March 2017. Please review both and let me know if you have any questions or concerns. You will notice that the wording has been modified to more fully explain the sourcing needed for pre-1700 profiles.

We're looking for reliable sources to add to the various lists. Are there sources on the Geneanet profile which would be good additions?

Thanks,

Debi
