Note: Charles was a legally contracted Voyageur who were sanctioned and respected by the Nouvelle France government. Baraboo-1 14:55, 16 November 2017 (EST)
Note: The French identifier dit Lajeunesse ( or La Jeunesse) is identifying something about the person or person's family. It is not a (royal or noble) conveyance such as de or du. It is not an alias, nickname or last name which are incorrect English translations.
French "dit" or "dite" names were identifiers used by French families, that describe the person based on a variety of possible definitions including French surname linage, maiden name genealogy, geography, guilds, master craftsmanship, military loyalties, seigneur relationships, military status ...etc etc etc
Many French Nouvelle France and Louisanne families carried their dit identification from their origins in France, Netherlands and Britain when they migrated to North America.
Eventually most dit and dite identifiers use were dropped as families became nationalized in North America and the discontinued use during the French Revolution. Baraboo-1 14:49, 16 November 2017 (EST)
Note: In this case the dit Lajeunesse was carried from France by his family and probably refers to a family line or indicating the "nouvelle (the youth) migration." . It is interesting that his children later added a Nouvelle France dit identifier " dit Quinchien." Confirmations are required. Baraboo-1 14:53, 16 November 2017 (EST)
