Elizabeth was born about 1615 in England.

Marriages

Elizabeth was married to Aaron Knapp (abt.1612-1674) when they sailed for the colonies about 1638.^{[1] [2]} They had seven children all born in the colonies.^[1]

She married a second time to William Hoskins.^[3]

The will of Aaron Knapp mentions Elizabeth: "In 17 January 1702[/3?], "Elizabeth Hoskins of Taunton … whose first husband was Aron Knap deceased of said Taunton and she the executrix to his last will & testament together with her eldest son Aaron Knap now living in Swansey, John Knap & Samuel Knap both of said Taunton," entered into an agreement, in which "the said Elizabeth Hoskins, widow, together with her son Aaron Knap, executors to the last will and testament of Aron Knap deceased," relinquished to "John Knap and Samuel Knap" rights to lands in Taunton.^{[4] [3][5]}

She died, probably at Taunton, after she "of Taunton," relinquished her rights to land there, 17 January 1702[/3?] as mentioned above.

Research Note

There has been some confusion about the second husband of Aaron Knapp's widow. She was the third wife of William Hoskins not the wife of his son John. She was having children with Aaron Knapp in the 40s to 60s. She would not have been having children with John Hoskins in the 80s and would have been roughly 30 years older than him.

William Hoskins had a wife Elizabeth. -- 7 Oct 1690. William Hoskins Senior of Taunton sold land to Samuel Waterman. The deed was acknowledged by William Hoskins Senior and Elizabeth Hoskins^[6]

Elizabeth Hoskins, formerly wife of Aaron Knapp was a widow in 1702/3. -- 17 Jan 1702[/3?] as noted above. John Hoskins was still alive in 1702, so Elizabeth Hoskins would not have been a widow.
