Caroline was born between 1810^[1]-1820^[2] in Massachusetts^[3] or Connecticut^[4].

She was the mother of Civil War veteran William Peters of the 54th Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry, the first regiment in the United States to enlist men of color during that war.
